I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!
I'm running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK. When researching different charities, I really wanted to find a charity that I connected with and that raising funds would mean something to me. I am very proud to join Team Breathe and run for Asthma + Lung UK.
I grew up with severe asthma requiring a week-long hospitalization when I was 8 years old and frequent trips to the Emergency Room throughout my childhood. I was the kid that constantly needed to have my inhaler with me, and that would need to head to the nurse's office in elementary school for nebulizer treatments during rough days. I will always remember sitting in the nurse's office and looking at pictures of professional athletes and Olympians that either had outgrown asthma or found ways to manage it. I found this tremendously uplifting and inspiring to imagine a way out.
Fortunately, I did outgrow my severe asthma, and in adulthood, I discovered a love for running that 8 year old me would have never thought possible. Sometimes, I get asked by friends or family why I like to run, and the simple answer is that I can and because that "can" was so impossible for so long.
My personal struggles with childhood asthma is why I'm proud to run for Asthma + Lung at the London Marathon.
I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!
