London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 with one lung to fight for lung health!

16 years ago this year I had most of my right lung removed.

Valentines day 2008, 5 months before I was due to get married following a week of not feeling very well I popped in to A&E to discover my lung had collapsed, all on its own!

That was the first of many collapses over the coming weeks and months which resulted in aspirations, drains, surgery and more surgery.

The doctors and nurses that looked after me were incredible and even more incredible were the people I met while I was in hospital, most were suffering with lung conditions. As a young 24 year old man the people I met and the experience I had shaped alot about the next 15 years of my life.

I have had the opportunity to take on challenges and enjoy a happy and healthy life thanks to the care that I received but unfortunately many more people do not have that opportunity.

I'm running the marathon to raise awareness and funds for lung health and the people affected by it.

1 in 5 of us will develop a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute.

I'm fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK. They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK’s nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!
