I’m doing the Hope Half Hour this January.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. Asthma + Lung UK is the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. The Asthma + Lung UK helpline gives on average half an hour of support to everyone who contacts them.
I’m doing the Hope Half Hour, walking half an hour every day in January, to make a difference. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

My Updates
Day 22 and back to it
Sunday 22nd Jan Hopefully made up for the three days I missed. I have really enjoyed this and am going to continue walking once the challenge is finished. ShareBack to it
Thursday 19th Jan After 3 days of being laid low with a horrible cold. I ventured out today. It was very pleasant but hard work. ShareDay 15
Sunday 15th Jan I have a really rotten cold but with encouragement from Gary I did my half hour first thing this morning. It's the night time when I feel worse. ShareOoops
Saturday 14th Jan I stupidly forgot to set the app off on my walk today and didn't realise until I got home. I walked to the hairdresser's and to my mum's then back home. I've come down with a rotten cold as well but I won't let it stop me! ShareFriday 13th
Friday 13th Jan It might not have rained today but it was cold. I'm really enjoying these walks! I love getting home after a walk and getting all warmed up. Working from home has its advantages. ShareSplit walk today
Thursday 12th Jan I walked to work 17mins walked from work to nail salon 20 mins then walked from nail salon home 28 minutes 44 seconds. If only I'd checked before I got in the house I could have got the full 30 mins! ShareNight time walk
Wednesday 11th Jan Walking in the dark today. Probably won't do that again but I'm really enjoying this 30 minutes walking challenge. I hope to continue after the challenge is over ShareDay 10
Tuesday 10th Jan I held back in the hope that the weather would improve but it didn't. So another half hour walk in the rain proved very therapeutic. I just wish the weather would improve a bit. ShareFreezing wet and windy!
Monday 9th Jan After a lovely weekend and plenty of walking I've struggled today to get out. I have bad toothache and can't get the tooth out until 10th February and that's private! So I've had to encompass my walk with a food shop! Still out and walking though! ShareDay 6
Friday 6th Jan Todays walk had to incorporate a visit to the local supermarket...a trip I would never had taken on foot! It isn't raining today just very cold and windy! I enjoyed the walk though loving the podcasts on BBC sounds. ShareDay 5
Thursday 5th Jan Even wetter and windier today. Thank goodness I am working from home and can get changed! ShareDay 3 tick!
Tuesday 3rd Jan First venture out on my own. It's cold and wet but I'm well wrapped up. The walking around here is pretty boring on your own but I have discovered podcasts and am really into The Witch Farm that will keep me occupied for a few more days yet! ShareSecond half hour done!
Monday 2nd Jan What a difference weather wise today. It was frosty but sunny and I had Gary walking with me again today. Tomorrow will be my first challenge when I have to go out by myself! It's not the fear of going out alone it's the motivation I need to get away from my desk to do it! ShareThank you to my Sponsors
