Technical support and tracking my progress

What fitness tracker can I use?

add remove

Fitness Apps, like Strava or Fitbit are the easiest way. You can link your fitness app to your fundraising page to get a running (or walking!) total. Just follow these steps to track your minutes automatically:

  1. When logged into your account, under the heading ‘My Fitness Activity’, click your chosen app and follow the prompts to connect your account
  2. When you next work out, select ‘start your workout’ in the app on your phone. Once you end your workout, save your workout and your distance will be published to the tally on your page the following day.

If you want to manually add your minutes, simply log in to your account and select ‘My Fitness Activity’. Then under ‘Add activity’, enter the date and length of time you were walking.

I don’t have a fitness tracker, can I still take part?

add remove

Yes! You don't need to use a fitness app to join the Hope Half Hour, you can track your time manually. To do this, go to the 'My Fitness Activity' section on your dashboard and scroll down to the 'Add activity' section.

What if I miss a day?

add remove

No problem! You can walk half an hour extra the next day. You could even split your daily half hour into 10 minute bursts, to make it easier to fit around your routine.

I’ve walked extra to make up for a missed day. How do I add this progress?

add remove

If you walk half an hour extra to make up for a missed day, you can add this time manually.

Simply go to the 'My Fitness Activity' section on your dashboard and scroll down to the 'Add activity' section. Add the date of the day you missed and the extra minutes, then the progress calendar on your profile will update automatically!

Fundraising

Is there a minimum amount to be raised?

add remove

There’s no fundraising target for the Hope Half Hour, we just ask you to raise as much as you can to support our life-saving work. (Don’t forget £100 could earn you a bespoke goody bag for your efforts!)

  • £100 allows 5 people to get support from our Helpline nurses
  • £100 funds a day of research
  • £100 pays for 8 school air pollution monitors

How do I start fundraising?

add remove

Your online fundraising page will be created as part of the sign-up process. All the amazing donations you receive will then be sent to your chosen charity automatically, so all you need to do is get sharing your page and spread the word!

Do I have to fundraise online?

add remove

Online fundraising is by far the easiest way! If you do receive any donations offline, you can simply make a donation to your page for that amount with a credit card. Don’t forget, if you’re paying money into your own page you can’t claim Gift Aid.
