I’m running the GNR in memory of my beautiful grandad

I'm running the Great North Run this year in memory of my gorgeous best friend, my granda john who unexpectedly passed away earlier in march this year.

My grandad has always suffered with having COPD and respiratory problems throughout his adult life and has suffered from having a collapsed lung on more than one occasion, this charity is close to mine and my families hearts as Asthma + Lung UK is the only UK charity that fights for everyone's right to breathe. Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. I want to make a difference and if that means making a difference to just one person then i know that my grandad would be so proud appreciative as i watched him struggle everyday with this awful, frustrating and painful condition which limits people's ability to do basic everyday things and he didn't want anyone else to suffer the way that he did in his everyday life.

Me and my grandad were two peas in a pod we were inseparable since the day i was born i've always been a grandads girl🩵and now i've had to learn to live without him which will forever be the the hardest thing i'm having to deal with every second of the day, but i know he'll be by my side every mile with his massive cheesy grin on his face and he'll be running beside me without having to worry about being short of breath💔
