I’m running The Great North Run in the fight for breath!

Hey, so as a lot of you will know, I lost the most treasured person to me in the world in 2018 - My Mam. She died from Pulmonary Fibrosis, specifically hypersensitivity pneumonitis - this disease not only broke my mam, but it also broke our lives, which is why I've decided to do my first ever GNR in honour of this amazing woman.


Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. I want to make a difference. I'm running The Great North Run for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 could go towards Health Care Advisors and Respiratory Specialists supporting someone with the information they need to live well.

Where to begin?

Long distance running is something I've not done for many, many years - so this will be my biggest challenge to date.

Slightly ironic a chronic heavy smoker, raising money for a charity fighting for healthier lungs, but who better to support!

As of today, I'm 4 days smoke free & 12 weeks energy drink free - two things which were holding me back from beginning my training.. with 9 months to go, the pressure and reality are starting to really kick in
