I’m running the London Marathon 2025!
Eeeek it’s happening! What am I thinking!!!
Although running the London Marathon has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember I didn’t expect it would be for a charity so close to me… or that I’d ever actually sign up!
As most people close to me know, I’ve struggled with asthma for the majority of my life. I spent most of my childhood unable to go a day without reliever inhalers when doing any kind activity… even walking up the hill to my house!
Over the years I’ve been on countless combinations of medication and have been a patient under the Norfolk and Norwich Respiratory Outpatients department for years and years. This department has changed my life with their support and help to managing my asthma.
Since 2016 I’ve been on monthly self administered injections alongside inhaled steroids and other medications to help manage my asthma. This ever changing concoction of evolving drugs has meant I’ve been able to run the London Royal Parks Half Marathon for Asthma UK in 2019 and am able to go about my day to day life without relying on inhalers. I love hiking, paddle boarding and although I haven’t run for quite some time I do love it!
Asthma and Lung UK not only have helplines which help nurses answer queries and concerns about asthma and other lung conditions, they work tirelessly to continue to research new medications just like my injections.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition and not remembering a time without having asthma, I want to make a difference.
Please donate anything you can to this incredible charity and help motivate me to get my running shoes on and actually train.. I may be crazy but even I don’t think I can blag running a full marathon without training!
