London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

My Updates

Welcome to my fundraising page!

Tuesday 10th Dec

1 in 5 of us will have a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute. I lost my mum very unexpectedly in September 2014. She had COPD but she was managing with inhalers and wasn’t yet relying on oxygen. Sadly she caught a chest infection and died. She was 61.

I also lost one of my closest friends, my husband’s cousin Laura, to lung cancer in 2021. She was 41.

In high school I lost a very close friend to asthma. She was called Saimah and she was 15.

I only really started running consistently in 2022 when I started training for the Great North Run, my first half marathon. I smashed my training and loved every single minute of the race. I never once in a million years believed I could run a marathon, but I realised that dream in April 2024 when I ran the London Marathon for the very first time. I loved every single minute of the 4 hours 49 minutes and I was well and truly hooked.

I entered the London Marathon 2025 ballot, but when the unsurprising email landed to say I was unsuccessful, I was gutted. I found myself looking to see if I could get a charity place, and I stumbled across Team Breathe’s page.

So here I am fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK. They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyones right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UKs nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any sized donation you are able to make. It’s really true when they say Every Penny Counts!

Today marks the start of my 20 training plan and it’s a nice easy one with an 8KM run with my gang. My legs feel good and I’m raring to go! 🙌🏼
