I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!
I was diagnosed with asthma when I was a child and have suffered multiple attacks since that first diagnosis. Over the years I really struggled to get the condition under control.
When I moved to London I found I was having asthma attacks almost weekly. Waking up in the middle of the night unable to breathe. Struggling on the tube and having attacks during the working day. I was unwell for most of my first year in London. It was only after a consultation with an asthma nurse that I understood how bad my asthma was.
I reached out to Asthma UK after I suffered a severe attack at home.
I had always been able to control my attacks, however, during this one I was unable to reach for my inhaler and depended on my partner who didn’t know what to do.
Between advice of sticking a cold flannel over my mouth and sitting outside, I was going in and out of consciousness. Thankfully I was taken to hospital for treatment. It made me realise how important my asthma health was and sharing, with those close to me, how to treat an attack.
Asthma UK were incredible, they provided me with an asthma plan that I worked through with the nurse, and I was able to share this to family and friends. They supported me on trialling new medication that has helped prevent attacks and they gave me my confidence back.
Running has never been easy, asthma and cardio don’t exactly go hand in hand! Over the last 3 years I’ve really enjoyed my running journey and when I found out about the London classics, I couldn’t resist a massive medal!

A Triathalon spread over 1 year!
I managed to get round the 100 mile cycle route. Then Itaught myself to swim! So if all that stands between me and a shiny gold medal is 26.2 miles, let’s go for it!
I would be so grateful for any donation to this amazing cause. Every pound I’m able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
