London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

Personal Story:

They say you meet some of your bestfriend later in life, a few years ago I joined a new company at work where I met my current co-worker, who i value as one of my best friends we see and speak to each other everyday.

She is an absolute incredible person, most down to earth person I have ever met. Since contracting pneumonia at the age of 9, she has lasting damage on her lungs making life more difficult for her at times  & meaning she is and always will be on inhalers/steroids . Through the time I’ve known her and seen with my own eyes how much this has effected her health and although most days she’s fine ,other days she struggles to do the most simple tasks as she can’t breathe or easily take in oxygen leading to sleepless nights and frustration. She has monthly respiratory / doctor’s appointments - which she hates & I know this is something that has had a knock on effect with her anxiety over the years.

Her Grandfather, her father & sister have also suffered/ suffering from asthma through out their lives.

A few months ago I was talking to her about my running journey, I was telling her all about it and how much I’d love the opportunity to run the London Marathon. She turned to me and said ‘I’m so jealous you have that ability to run, days like today there would be absolutely nothing I’d love more than to go out for a run in the sun - but my breathing doesn’t allow this for me’ This broke my heart and in that moment I realised how much of a privilege it is to be able to run even a mile, never mind a marathon.

She’s the type of person, that puts absolutely everyone  before herself - she bends over backwards to support & be there for people, even people that don’t always give it her back. Even when she’s been unwell she still finds the time to be there for anyone, friend, family or stranger. I am absolutely honoured & ecstatic to be able to raise money & run this for her.
