London Marathon 2025!
I have decided to jump on the bandwagon with over 50,000 other people, and run the 2025 London Marathon! I will be running for Asthma + Lung UK which, I feel, is a great cause! Having asthma as a child, sparked my interest in the condition as I know how debilitating it can be. I currently work in a GP surgery as a pharmacist prescriber with a special interest in asthma.
During my childhood, I experienced multiple episodes of night time coughing which worried my parents, and in turn this lead to several visits to see multiple doctors and nurses. At school, I could never understand why I kept on getting out of breath during my PE lessons, and yet my other classmates didn’t; I remember feeling rubbish about not being able to keep up with the faster children on sports days!
Asthma + Lung UK have a great helpline that provides expert support to over 17,000 people each year; I often signpost my patients to the website as the resources are very useful and patient friendly. The Asthma + Lung UK website helps me so much on a daily basis, that I felt this was a worthy charity to run my first marathon for.
Any donation, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated!
