London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

I would like to assure you that I am fully aware of the risks associated with participating in a marathon with asthma. However, I am determined to overcome these challenges and showcase the strength and resilience of individuals living with asthma. I believe that my participation in this event will not only inspire others with asthma but also raise awareness about the condition and the importance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

Overcoming obstacles as an Asthmatic.

Tuesday 14th May
Hey there, fellow runners and asthma warriors! Today, I want to share with you my incredible journey as I prepare to participate in the upcoming marathon event. Living with asthma has presented its fair share of challenges, but I am determined to prove that nothing can hold me back from achieving my goals and embracing an active lifestyle.

When I first decided to take on the marathon, I knew that my asthma would require careful management and preparation. I consulted with my healthcare provider and developed a personalized asthma management plan that includes regular check-ups, proper medication usage, and understanding my asthma triggers. Armed with this knowledge, I embarked on a training program specifically designed for individuals with asthma.

One of the key aspects of my training has been gradually increasing my endurance while paying close attention to my body's signals. I've learned the importance of pacing myself and listening to what my lungs are telling me. Incorporating breathing exercises into my routine has also been immensely helpful in strengthening my respiratory system and improving my overall lung capacity.

Of course, I am fully aware of the risks associated with participating in a marathon with asthma. But I firmly believe that with proper preparation, determination, and the support of my medical team, I can conquer any challenge that comes my way. My goal is not only to complete the marathon but also to inspire others with asthma to embrace an active lifestyle and never let their condition define their limits.

Participating in this marathon is about more than just crossing the finish line. It's about raising awareness about asthma and showing the world that individuals with asthma can lead fulfilling, active lives. It's about breaking down barriers and proving that we are capable of achieving greatness, despite our medical conditions.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this meaningful event and to support the incredible work of Asthma+Lung UK. Together, we can make a difference and empower others to overcome their own obstacles.

So, fellow asthma warriors, let's lace up our running shoes, take a deep breath, and conquer the marathon together. Remember, we are stronger than our asthma, and together, we can achieve the extraordinary.

Keep running and keep pushing forward!
