London Landmarks 2025

I’m running London Landmarks Half Marathon!

I am excited to announce that I will be participating in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Asthma and Lung UK, a charity that holds a special place in my heart. As someone who struggles with asthma, I understand the challenges faced by those living with lung conditions. This run won't be easy, but with your support and my trusty inhalers by my side, I'm determined to cross that finish line. Please consider donating to Asthma and Lung UK to help fund vital research and support for individuals affected by asthma and other lung diseases. Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of many. Thank you for your generosity! 💛

My Half Marathon Training Journey: A Rollercoaster Ride

Saturday 25th Jan
Sometimes, life has a funny way of throwing challenges your way when you least expect them. Signing up for a half marathon was supposed to be an exciting step forward—a goal to push myself, something to work toward with pride. But as life would have it, I decided to take this on at possibly the worst time for myself health-wise.

When I signed up, I was just coming out of the hospital, recovering from breathing issues. My body was weak, and my confidence wasn’t much stronger. Still, I was determined to give it my all. But the hits just kept coming. Each time I tried to gain momentum, I’d get unwell again, sidelined before I could really find my stride. It felt like my body and life circumstances were conspiring against me.

I won’t sugarcoat it: it’s been tough. Really tough. There were moments I doubted whether I could do this. Times when I thought, “Why did I think this was a good idea?” But every time that voice in my head tried to convince me to quit, I remembered why I started: to prove to myself that I’m capable of more than I think.

Fast forward to today, and with just 10 weeks to go, I’m finally finding some consistency. I’ve made it into the gym, and I’ve started easing back into training. It’s not perfect. It’s not where I imagined I’d be. But it’s a start, and that’s something to be proud of.

My goal is simple: to cross that finish line in under 3 hours. It might not be a record-breaking pace, but for me, it’s a victory. Every step of this journey has been about overcoming obstacles, about proving to myself that resilience can win out.

I know I might not be the fastest or the most prepared runner out there. But I also know that when I line up on race day, I’ll be bringing everything I’ve got. I’ll be running for the version of myself that didn’t think she could do this. For the person who signed up, even when the odds weren’t in her favor.

So, here’s to the next 10 weeks of training. Here’s to the early mornings, the sore legs, and the small victories along the way. I’m praying I can do my best, not just for me but for everyone who’s supported me in this journey.

Fingers crossed, I’ll see you at the finish line. Thank you for believing in me. Let’s do this!
