I’m walking to make a difference.
I’ve decided to set myself a challenge!
In November (baring in mind it’s freezing) i’ll be walking 60 miles, firstly to raise money for Asthma & Lung UK, secondly to motivate myself to move more and thirdly in memory of my grandad John who had COPD.
For as long as i can remember as a child growing up, my grandad was always having his nebulisers, struggling with his breathing, unable to walk long distances at any one time and had home oxygen.. it’s only now as a nurse i realise how much this condition impacted his life and made him so vulnerable and dependent on other people and medications.
COPD is a long term chronic condition with no current cure. Currently in the UK there are 1.3 million people with this diagnosis and around 30,000 people die from it each and every year.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a new lung condition. Every pound raised takes us closer to a world where everyone breathes clean air with healthy lungs.
Any donations you can give are hugely appreciated - thank you for supporting me and everyone out there living with a lung condition.
