Support Melissa in the Great North Run 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK

In September 2025, I’ll be running the Great North Run in memory of my amazing dad, Desmond Smith, who sadly passed away in 2022 from pulmonary fibrosis. My dad’s strength and resilience throughout his battle with this relentless lung disease has inspired me to take on this challenge and raise funds for Asthma + Lung UK, as part of Team Breathe.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a cruel condition that gradually scars the lungs, making it harder and harder to breathe. Watching my dad go through it was heartbreaking, but I want to turn that pain into action. By supporting Asthma + Lung UK, we can fund vital research, raise awareness, and provide support for people affected by lung conditions, just like my dad.
