London Marathon 2026

Why I'm running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

As an asthma sufferer myself, this is going to be something of a challenge, so your support is greatly appreciated.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving adviceI'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

What now?!

Wednesday 16th Jul
So, training for 2026 hasn't been going well because of acute bouts of dizziness. A trip to the GP and a specialist ENT doctor later, and as well as developing Crohn's, I have now developed Meniere's Disease. Basically, if there is a condition that's hard to spell, I have it (I just learned ankylosing spondylitis, which I spent years learning to spell, has been renamed axial spondyloarthritis. I mean, how the hell do you even say that!?).

I am determined this latest setback will not keep me away from London in April, but would love your support to help me along the way x

Let's try this again

Saturday 31st May
Having been all set up to run the 2025 London Marathon, I'm delighted my page is set up for 2026.
"So why didn't you run in 2025?" I hear you not asking. Well, after months of training and just 6 short weeks from the big day, a routine colonoscopy suddenly became emergency surgery, with me having a substantial chunk of my colon removed. Initially, cancer was suspected. Thankfully, that turned out not to be the case. Crohn's was the diagnosis.
Needless to say, I was in no fit state to take my place at the start in April (a walk to the shops was enough of a challenge) and so I deferred my place, and here we are.
So, as well as being an asthma sufferer and having ankylosing spondylitis, I now have post-surgery recovery and Crohn's to throw into the mix.
A big thank you to everyone who pledged money for 2025, who have had their donations carried over to next year. If you feel like you can join them, I'd be delighted.
