London Marathon 2025

I am running the London Marathon 2025!

Hey!

This year I am taking on London Marathon to raise awareness for a charity, very close to my heart as I suffer from severe asthma along with other conditions which lead my asthma to be unstable. At the age of 21, I have been in two induced comas and endured many stays in ICU over the past 4 years. Thanks to this charity, the incredible asthma nurses and intensive care specialists, I am in the process of gaining back control to allow me to live life like an ordinary 21 year old!

My most recent attack happened in Summer 2024, whereby I fell poorly very suddenly. Luckily for me, I work with some incredible people who noticed how quickly I began to deteriorate and managed to get me to hospital, whereby I was seen in resus before shortly being transferred to intensive care and placed into an induced coma as I was unable to breathe for myself. Thanks to the incredible ICU team and asthma nurses, I am on the right road for a full recovery taking multiple inhalers, daily steroids and receiving biologic injections from the specialist airways clinic, in order to prevent frequent and severe attacks and take control of my asthma.

One of my biggest challenges will be with my legs.  As I had anaphylactic shock to one of the drugs used to treat me combined with the high levels of sedation, I have struggled to recover back to full mobility in my legs. Most days I am in a lot of pain, and unable to fully function. Exercise has worked wonders, and there is now less bad days than good!

I am running/walking/doing whatever I can to get to that finishing line, to prove to myself that my lungs don't define or control my ability. I also want to reach a milestone whereby I accept my condition & find ways to build a life that I can be proud of. This year alone I have started with a personal trainer and re-found my love and passion for dance. My next goal is running.

I am extremely grateful to of been given this opportunity by #TEAMBREATHE

Any donations would mean the absolute world, every penny goes towards changing lives x
