I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!
Asthma has been something I have always found myself having a constant battle with. I used to avoid any physical activity out of fear that I would have an asthma attack or that I simply wouldn’t be able to do it.
After seeing various doctors, I was given oral medication and multiple different inhalers to try, and after a long, difficult journey, I have been able to control my asthma enough to be able to run and do all the sports that I thought I was never able to do!
Having completed the couch to 5K in January and further developing my running journey ever since, myself and my family have noticed a massive change in my physical health and mental health, and I no longer let my asthma control what I can and can’t do.
Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of mine, but with my asthma I thought I would never be able to even get as far as running more than 5 minutes, but with the right support from charities such as Asthma and Lung UK, my family and my friends, I have been able to do the things I’ve always wanted to achieve, and by running the London marathon next year, another achievement will be ticked off that list.
I do not doubt that running the London Marathon will be a challenge, but I know that with resilience and determination I can cross that finish line. It means the world to me to be able to do that in support of Asthma and Lung UK and I hope that I can show others who are also in similar situations to myself that we can all do hard things. It’s as much of a mental battle as a physical battle.
Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs. I would be very grateful for any donations you could make, little or big!
